This was, for the most part, a completely different band than what was heard on the full length. Aside from a different rhythm section, the songs were written and rehearsed as a group; definitely not the solo project it had initially started as. The altogether tone of the record was much more relaxed and thankfully lacked the depressing, quieter ballads of the first release. There was a lot of studio experimenting on this one: recording all guitars through two amps at a time, different delay and reverb fluctuation, recording with crappy 6 dollar microphones that came with mic stands, writing extra guitar and bass on the spot seconds before recording. Mixing the record took months because not a single person was able to finish the project for various reasons. It left Mike Russell's hands and traveled through a number of Thousand Oaks engineers until finally coming back around to Mike. It was for the best though. Engineered by Mike Russell.
