As the title suggests, these songs are vintage at this point. All three were written 10ish years ago as the last few songs of the project King City Speed Trap. The band eventually dissolved and the three unrecorded songs remained as acoustic numbers in occasional solo shows. There was no plan to ever record them as a full band until the opportunity suddenly arose.
With the small amount of free time we all had each week, we somehow got the instruments all tracked out but during a vocal session I felt a horrible tearing feeling in my voice box, which became about 6 months of of throat problems and eventually a tonsillectomy.
After a few final sessions with my new ability to wail without experiencing brutal pain, the last of the vocal tracks were completed. As two guys who work between 50-60 hours a week, it took another couple years to get everything compiled and mixed. So, New Old Stock is an EP that was written a decade ago, and recorded half a decade ago. Huge thanks to the Meyer family for allowing us to do an 8 hour drum session in their living room.
